Donut Holes
If dad's got a sweet tooth, he'll flip for these homemade donut holes. They're easier than you think to make!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, for rolling
Directions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and whisk until fully combined.
- In a medium pot, heat oil to 350°F.
- Working in batches, drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer donut holes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Roll warm donut holes in sugar until coated all over. Serve warm and enjoy!
Bourbon Ginger Beer Cocktail
A cold drink is easily one of the best ways to treat dad. Equal parts sweet bourbon and spicy ginger beer, plus a dash of bitters are all you need for a sipper that's as refreshing as can be.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. bourbon whiskey
- 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1/4 oz. simple syrup
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Ginger beer, to fill
Directions:
- Add bourbon, lime juice, simple syrup, and bitters to a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a glass filled with ice.
- Top with ginger beer and stir.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
Homemade Pizza
This easy-peasy pizza is just the way to treat him, especially if you surprise dad with an outdoor pizza oven as a gift!

- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

- Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
- Transfer dough to a lightly oiled pizza pan or baking sheet and press out to the edges.
- Spoon pizza sauce over the dough and spread evenly, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edge.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce, then top with fresh basil.
- Drizzle pizza with olive oil and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
