Celebrate Variety in the Dairy Aisle

Dairy products have always been a staple in American households. From essential items like milk, butter, and cheese to alternative dairy products like non-dairy cheese, creamers, and almond, coconut, oat, and soy milk, the dairy aisle continues to grow and change with consumer needs. According to a recent survey by The National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA), 61% of U. S. adults purchase both dairy and non-dairy products.

Despite the many options available, many consumers still have their brand-name favorites. The survey revealed that 45% of U.S. adults buy brand-named yogurt and 39% buy brand-named cheeses and butter.

To celebrate National Dairy Month, Chef Jamie Gwen shares her favorite recipes using items from the dairy aisle. Check out her Breakfast Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Muffin Tin Lasagna, and White Chocolate Raspberry Bread Pudding Bites below.

White Chocolate Raspberry Bread Pudding Bites

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups bread cubes
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. Scatter bread cubes evenly among muffin tin wells. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, heat milk and white chocolate chips until just melted and smooth.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs. Slowly add the milk mixture, whisking constantly. Pour mixture over bread cubes in muffin tin.
  5. Gently press raspberries into each muffin well. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bread pudding bites are set and golden brown.
  6. Allow bites to cool in muffin tin for 10 minutes. Remove from tin and drizzle with heavy cream. Serve warm.
