Air Fryer Crispy and Moist Fried Chicken
Nothing beats the classic taste of fried chicken. Using an air fryer to prepare this dish makes it healthier and lower in calories, yet still amazingly crispy and moist. Here's everything you'll need to prepare it:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Non-stick cooking spray
Directions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
- In a shallow mixing bowl, stir together flour, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- In another mixing bowl, stir together panko bread crumbs and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Take the chicken pieces and dip them in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, and then the panko mixture, making sure they are well-coated.
- Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray and place the chicken pieces in the basket in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
- Place the basket in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, flip the chicken pieces and cook for another 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
