Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Form the dough into small balls and place them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches in between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and let cool completely before serving.
