Breakfast Noodles with Pork and Chive Dumplings

Chef Jon Kung, author of "Kung Food: Chinese American Recipes from a Third Culture Kitchen," shares the recipe for his viral breakfast noodles with crispy pork and chive dumplings:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of fresh wheat noodles
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 pound of ground pork
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped garlic chives
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar

Directions:

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package directions and set them aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  3. When the oil is hot, add the ground pork and cook until it is crispy and no longer pink.
  4. Add the garlic chives and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, white pepper, and sugar to the skillet and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and mix everything together until the noodles are coated in the sauce.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
