Trader Joe's Everything Bagel Seasoning Banned in South Korea
Trader Joe's shoppers who have recently traveled to South Korea may have been surprised at customs, where a crackdown is being enforced on the popular item, Everything Bagel Seasoning. The Incheon Airport in Seoul, South Korea, has been strictly banning this seasoning due to the presence of poppy seeds, which are illegal in the country for their narcotic properties, despite being free of opiates.
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon garlic flakes
- 1 tablespoon onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon sea salt flakes
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Sprinkle over your favorite food, such as avocado toast or a bagel with cream cheese.
Trader Joe's Everything Bagel Seasoning became famous in 2017 for its delicious blend of flavors. Unfortunately, the seasoning is not allowed in South Korea due to their strict ban on poppy seeds. So enjoy this recipe at home and remember to leave it behind when traveling to South Korea.
